To put Pretty Lights in a specific genre is pretty hard. Or better: impossible. Derek Smith, who is the guy behind Pretty Lights, creates tracks which doesn´t fit in a box. Rather he delivers sound for almost every situation. Some weeks ago on a Thailand trip we listened to his creations on a relaxed night at the beach but you could also find some real rave tunes for the club. Yesterday we visited the concert of “The Drums” in Munich. First I thought: Shit, these kids are 15 years old. But they performed really great.

More than just worth mentioning are “Cloud Control” (www.cloudcontrolband.com). They introduced “The Drums” with a set of perfect tracks. New album “Bliss Release” comes out in the US today.
Friend and cinematographer Felix Urbauer filmed with Caja Schoepf and Lena Stoffel, edited and directed this great piece of art for Fiat (www.fiatfreestyleteam.de). A must see and a nice start in the upcoming skiing and snowboarding season.
